Target of Program Evaluation Plan, Part Target of Program Evaluation Plan, Part Introduction Exceptional students have educational needs that go past what is customarily offered in a normal classroom. The nature of their capabilities, demonstrated or dormant, need distinguished learning experiences, as well as opportunities, for students to make best use of their potential. Teachers ought to develop the quality and depth of their students’ experiences while modifying the speed to meet personal needs (Lockman, 2007).

This paper will talk about the Exceptional Education Program k-12 in Orlando Florida, Orange County Public Schools. Question 1 Some of the key elements of evaluation are: program management and tracking, efficiency of the program implementation, as well as accountability. There are also three types of evaluations programs. These types are: process, outcome as well as the impact. The k-12 program is a process evaluation (Diane, 1992). It can also be referred to as monitoring or accountability.

Process evaluation tackles the ways in which a program is put into practice plus the circumstances under which the program will take place. A process evaluation might also assess the activities and materials that are being developed for content, as well as implementation suitability. Teaching departments, as well as the government, are the groups responsible for administering this program (Diane, 1992). Parents to students also play a have role in the program. The target population for this program is the exceptional students in schools who study with all other students yet they have exceptional needs.

Question 2 Career education is a fairly modern idea compared to writing, reading, as well as math, plus it is helpful to study its background and development. The k-12 program started its formulation almost two decades ago (OCPS, 2012). This was under the chairmanship of Kenneth Hoyt who was then the United States Assistant Commissioner of Education. The k-12 program is the totality of experiences by which a person learns and prepares to engage in vocation as part of his or her way of living.

The main purpose of the evaluation is to offer formative evaluation facts to decision makers regarding the implementation of career learning in a normal classroom. It also aims at enabling every student to succeed in school as well as his or her chosen career (OCPS, 2012). Question 3 Reasons for selecting this program are many. First of all, the program seeks to incorporate students to the money driven society of today. Struggling to study many concepts before choosing your career is a hard task.

This program enables students to study careerwise. Also, the program is cost-effective (Diane, 1992). It is a waste of resources in educating a student from elementary school up to college level only to realize later that the student’s talent does not lay on the principles studied in school. Question 4 The program uses an advanced curriculum (OCPS, 2012). Even though, the program is sophisticated, it is consistent in building upon, as well as extending, the general educational curriculum. Its sophisticated curriculum is enhanced by the study of universal ideas, multifaceted levels generalizations, as well as essential questions, making it viable to a student.

The program is also instructional delivery. The program employs a couple of research-rooted methods and strategies from numerous curriculum models, which highlight skills such as inquiry, experimentation and investigation. This program ensures that students are given chances to interpret the whys of the world through scholarly discussions. Finally, the program has multiple assessments (Lockman, 2007). Multiple assessments are employed in monitoring students’ advancements in interpreting complex materials, issues, ideas, as well as vital questions encountered with rigorous materials.

Question 5 Two key constraints of conducting this evaluation are: time and budget. With regards to time, in a majority of situations, evaluators are not fully incorporated into the program plan process from the launch, but are rather consulted once the plan is already in its superior stages. This reduces the time for the evaluation, which puts pressure on evaluators, who now have to balance the timeliness and excellence of the data gathering process. Budget constraints also have similar effects on the evaluation.

Funds constraints are also issues since evaluation is not initiated until most of the money has been assigned for other purposes (Diane, 1992). This is particularly true with process evaluations that program administrators may not consider till the project is completed. A way of easing these constraints is through early preparation of the evaluators and also early funding of the project. Conclusion The goals of the k-12 program are to assist students develop careerwise and avoid the hustles of the society.

It seeks to develop students into their careers from their early stages of life based on their talents instead of going for the general careers that everybody is competing for. References Diane, F.
