Additional Comparison of Air Cargo Facilities Hong Kong International Airport The airport is located at Canada and offers various cargo related services. The airport has an advanced system of handling cargo and is able to handle many tones on daily basis. Some of the identified advantages of cargo handling in the airport include the fact that it is in a strategic location adjacent to a number of countries all over the world. The airport also has a modern marine cargo terminal. The terminal is equipped with various basic systems for manual maneuvering that assists in making sure all cargo is handled in the right way.

Moreover, the airport is equipped with fully mechanized and automated systems that assist in handling bulky and weighty cargo. Vitoria International Airport The airport is located in Bilbao, Basque County, Spain and it is equipped with modern cargo handling systems. In matters of handling air cargo, the airport is safe, commercially oriented and cost-effective (Briefs, 2002). This makes many customers to prefer the airport to many others in Europe. Cargo is placed and secured in a bonded warehouse while in the airport.

The other significant issue is that the cargo terminal area addresses the issue of environmental services. For example, there is waste disposal mechanisms employed with the cargo terminal area. The other issue is that the airport cargo terminal system is build in a way that is easy to move, modify and upgrade it in case there is an increase in volumes of cargo (Briefs, 2002). The cargo terminal system is also tailored with 24hrs service maintenance system. Moreover, the terminal is equipped with a high performance standard in order to ensure that the cargo is safe throughout the period it will be in the system.

Comparing the above airport cargo terminals with Memphis and Louisville cargo hubs Similarity Memphis and Louisville cargo hubs provide international services relating to cargo handling. The same case applies to both of the above two airport as they also provide international air cargo services. The cargo terminals at Memphis and Louisville are also equipped with the modern cargo system equipments and facilities. Considering the fact that Memphis and Louisville cargo hubs were developed earlier than the two-airport cargo terminals addressed above, the hubs are therefore more developed and possess modern mechanical system that assist in making work more easier when handling the cargos.

The other similar issue is that all the airports meet the international standards of handling air cargo. Moreover, the airports provide safety for both the workers and the cargo during the cargo handling process. They are all equipped risk management equipments and therefore safe. The airports also address the issue of environmental services. Differences One of the differences is that both with Memphis and Louisville cargo hubs are large in comparison to Hong Kong and Vitoria International airports.

Memphis is considered the largest operational by volume cargo hub worldwide. The airport has a perking slot that can accommodate more than 175 aircrafts (Briefs, 2002). This makes the facility to be one of the busiest air cargo operational service providers worldwide. Louisville is also one of the largest cargo hubs in the world. This is because the airport has a major package deliver giant, United Parcel Service (Richard de Neufville & Odoni, 2003). The major difference in relation to cargo handling services is that both Memphis and Louisville hubs have many staff workers.

This indicates that the hubs are always busy and operate on a large volume of cargos. The other significant difference is cargo storage capacity. Both Memphis and Louisville hubs possess a large storage capacity compared to Hong Kong and Vitoria hubs. Reference Briefs. (2002). Traffic World, 266(14), 37. Richard de Neufville, R. L., & Odoni, A. R. (2003). Airport systems, planning, design, and management. New York: McGraw-Hill.
