The article addresses biases committed by white individuals to black ones. It highlights the justice process taken afterwards and the biases which existed during the trails. It illustrates using Dunn a white individual who opened fire on a group of young black individuals who were out to have fun and had no ill intentions towards him. In addition, it also illustrates the case of George Zimmerman who walked free after committing an injustice to a black person. The article also points at the bias existing in the justice system with a keen emphasis on the jury who makes verdicts based on race (Robinson, 2014).

In my opinion, the author of the article is wrong to say that the whole jury was biased on the cases regarding the mentioned individuals. This is because I believe that the jury is composed of different individuals with different backgrounds and not all of them came up with the same verdict. Therefore, it is not wise to call the whole jury to be biased because it works on the assumption of democracy whereby the majority wins. It might be that in the two cases mentioned above, there were a few individuals in the jury who were not for the idea of allowing justice to elude the victims.

I also think that Dunn who was the accused might not have perpetrated the crime intentionally. This is because one of the teenage boys who were in car had pointed something which looked like a weapon at him. He might have acted in self defense as probably, the might have mistook the toy gun to be a real gun, therefore threatened that the incidence was a robbery or some thing close. I also critique the last paragraph on the article where the author translated the term bad to be ‘young, black and male”.

This is because the accused was probably referring to character and not the individual. The term bad in many cases is used in situations where an individual feels that something is not right. By saying that the accused referred to the
