Since that time I have had to overcome some occasions when I felt completely out of my depth and wanted to return home. However, like some students in the article said, the attraction of American culture is that it does provide opportunities to everyone. I had the chance to travel to several European countries to study, but I would not have the same opportunities that would be on offer in America. While I may never be considered an American because of my racial background, I think that as long as I can identify with being an American then it is okay.

Although the influence of my own culture has lessened, I will have the advantage of having a foot in two cultures. I can also use my cultural experiences to assist me in my future life in America.
