Your full full November 28, Handling Plagiarism Plagiarism means to use the ideas and quotes ofothers in personal papers and documents without mentioning the original source of those ideas and quotes. It also refers to use of external sources (encyclopedias, books, journal articles, internet sources, and other papers) in writing articles without citing the sources properly. Plagiarism can be handled by mentioning the original source of copied text both within the text, as well as at the end of the document.

Plagiarism can also be termed as a crime because it violates the copyright acts. Almost every university and college of the world discourages the act of plagiarism. Some universities take special care of this issue take strict measures, such as, expelling such students who are found to be doing plagiarism in final dissertations and projects. However, universities can handle this issue in such a way that they stage of expelling students does not occur. Universities should make students aware of the penalties of doing plagiarism right from the beginning of their studies in order to save their precious years which may fall at risk due to some act of plagiarism at the later stages of their studies.

It is the responsibility of the teachers to provide complete guidelines to students regarding the ways to avoid plagiarism. Moreover, they should also make students aware that the university uses plagiarism detecting software to verify the originality all of students’ papers and documents, so they should not try to do plagiarism at any cost.
