? The feminization of love, How men and women are portrayed by society and the media Feminization sociologically, istaken as changing of gender roles in humanity played by a typical female. In terms of activity, it refers to lifestyle performances involving a man doing female responsibilities. While biologically, it refers to hormonally stimulated female sexual characteristic development. On the other hand, love is a multi-faced movement, which varies based on situations, as well as one’s individual motives. There are many types of love, possibly as numerous as do several persons, who are loved and are in love. It entails a wide diversity of feelings characterized by some set behaviors (Robert 88). These components range from the one we feel for our parents, acquaintances, siblings, and kids to the ones we are feel for our wives or husbands. Currently love is connected to sexual relationships, a boy girl relationship may be termed as love, but, in most circumstances, it is infatuation or lust. However, what we are thinking, as love in the society is determined by women, and not by men (Gelsthorpe 53). Society in the past, viewed men and women from different perspectives. Their roles were well defined by the norms and taboos of a given society. Crisscrossing of duties was prohibited, and penalties were put in place to handle any uncouth behavior. However, changes occur every day with respect to the roles men and women play. In fact, today, their roles are reversed. This has seen the society change drastically within a short duration of time. With the transition of society, men and women continue to modify their lifestyles and way of living. In the field of administration, women are now heading countries, big organizations and small ones at the grass root level. Academically, women are now studying technical courses, which were only left for men. Women have now moved from kitchen and bedroom materials to the head of the families. Their duties and responsibilities have changed from caretakers to economically productive people in the society. Gender equity has now chipped in, and with the company of love, men can now share duties with their partners. Mode of life has further changed considerably. To some extra ordinary scenario, it has proved to be slightly complicated to allow women to participate actively. This is not due to discrimination, but the view of the society in some circumstances, women are viewed as vulnerable. For instance, a war situation. In the negative side, the society terms women as the weaker sex because occasionally, they feel annoyed if the other partner shows love with masculine behavior. They claim that it is invisible to them (Mark 36). How society view men and women culturally vary from place to place, ideas of appropriate behavior based on gender are varying among cultures along with the era. Although some aspects receive extra widespread attention than some others, Masculinities and Feminism claims that there are traditions where it has not been a taboo for men to contain homosexual relations, while there are others, who term as a vice, based on cultural beliefs and customs. In the 'Western' account age, when the modern caucus stated that men showed suppressed feelings of not relating, men were emotional about their feelings for their friends. “Companionship in the outback of Australian previous century is a situation in point" (Hutter 35). Further aspects, though, may differ noticeably with time plus place. In the then times, women were normally associated with roles correlated to medicine and even healing duties. As a result of the coming up of witch-hunts over Europe together with medicine institutionalization, these responsibilities finally ended up under the domination of men. Women turned to have no voice on whatever happened. In the last recent few decades, though, these responsibilities have become for the most part gender-neutral in Western civilization (Mark 178). The element of conference or traditions seems to play a leading role in settling on which career is fitting with which roles of gender. Consequently, in the republic of United States, physicians were traditionally men. Some few individuals who defied that belief received a unique job description. They were given special titles such as women lawyers, male nurses, and male secretaries. However, the situation is the reverse in the former Union of Soviet socialist Republic. In this country, the field of medicine, women dominate doctors. There are just a handful of men in this field of profession. Likewise, in Germany, men and women have interchanged their duties and responsibilities, where nearly all barbers you will encounter in any barbershop is a woman. This same situation applies to the republic of Taiwan. Initially in the life history of man, clerical work was under full control of men. Nevertheless, drastical changes took effect during the World War 2 (Francesca 253). At this time, clerical jobs became female dominated and more feminized. This domination made women to be recognized as typewriters in the world. In addition, they were handling it more professionally than the way men did it at their domination times (Coltrane & Randall 69). In the western society, individuals whose gender shows masculinity are at certain times ridiculed for showing what the society looks upon as a woman's masculinity responsibility. For example, an individual having a masculine voice, and putting on a woman’s dress, with high-heeled shoes, instead of receiving some unfriendly attentions, however, will highly likely get ridiculed in a normal social context. Given that a number of theories of love bound the society, these people do not take these issues seriously, but they take them as jokes with a light touch. The failure of the society is that it tends to take more concern on women than men. It neglects men’s contribution of love simply because they express their love in a unique manner. In some exceptional cases, the society view men with double standards. These men are capable to date as many women as possible with the intention to be stud. These likes of men have respect of their own and they belong to their special strata in the society (Francesca 235). The media network is an important network, and it plays a key role in the society. The effort by three feminist reporters namely Ehrenreich, Elizabeth Hess, and Gloria Jacobs inspire women to have hope. They view and analyze the phrase called sexual revolt of the 19 sixties as well as the 19seventies (Kemper 265). Consequently, they move further to examine the criticism that has commenced against it in the early 19 eighties. Upon winding up their work, they put both in new point of view. They Point out clearly that women are the ones to bear the blame (Robert 124). This is because have tainted their attitudes along with their behaviors throughout the past two decades. The three authors see the first move near sexual freedom as a significant early look of feminism. Yet, as they follow its evolution via the institutionalization of novel attitudes, they furthermore show how the movement has been designated in cooperation between the Christians right together with the sexual marketplace (Kemper 265). Currently, in the don of AIDS, a fresh sexual conservatism has invaded, which persuades women to go back to the previous values (Morrissette 86). The media pretend to be against stereotypes, however happily reverting to stereotyped thoughts. This can be seen on their fashionable Queer Eye for the Straight Guy program. The media tries to bring men and boys pictures’ as people who are presented by the world’s hostility values (Robert 180). It is trying to change men through marginalization and trivialize them. In most cases, the media are championing for girl child education, while neglecting boy child. Men and women are having a different understanding capacities and mode of expression. Men do take communication as a process of full filling their missions. This enables them to be at the top of the ladder in life. In conclusion, the society and the media view men and women from different perspectives. It is based on the past and the present activities, which these people are involved in. Women and men have undergone several changes, which have made the society to be different from the long gone days of history. Women are now heading countries, for example, Germany and Liberia (Cancian 43). Work cited Cancian, Francesca. Love in America: Gender and Self-Development.
