Mobile News Adoption among Young Adults Student name: Institutional affiliation Date: Mobile News Adoption among Young Adults Introduction This study ‘Mobile News Adoption among Young Adults’ involves the analysis of the indicators of the consumption of the mobile news by the students and people comprising the young population. This has been undertaken following the analysis of the patterns that are portrayed by the young people and the behaviors that are undertaken. The conclusions that are derived from the undertaking the above study have some patterns that they portray. In the corporation and use of the mobile news by the young people are influenced by several factors. The first major factor that has influenced the move by the young people is the influence by the media. The continuous usage of the media has influenced the patterns of the children. The new consumption patterns that have also been put to use by the young people have also contributed to the change in the decision patterns of the young people. According to the study also, there are many advantages that are also derived from the incorporation f different views of the behavior patterns. Through the study therefore, there is a deep analysis of the patterns that are adopted by the young people in their activities and especially so in the consumption of the mobile news. In the carrying out of the research on ‘Mobile News Adoption among Young Adults’ there has been the use of the objectivity approach in the sampling used by the researchers. This means that the samples derived and used in the process have all been selected based on a degree of high number rather not a random sample. This means that the possibility of a random selection whereby each single element in the population has a similar degree of likelihood of selection is eliminated. The derivatives in the study have been based on the gender of the individual taking part in the study, the gender and such other things as this. The benefit of this, because it has sought to use the objectivity of the study is that it makes the sample that is selected to be representative of the whole population. This is through ensuring that all the areas in the study are majorly represented. In the undertaking of the study ‘Mobile News Adoption among Young Adults’ there was an analysis of the data that was to be used in the investigation. With this, there was the use of the sampling technique of the young people. Data collection was through sampling where the sample size that was used comprised of fifty four participants. Through this, the researchers perceived it as a representative sample that would result to a conclusive conclusion of the actual matter at hand. This was a sample that was used to validate the questioning and check whether the questions that were being asked were appropriate. In the study, the total number of participants who took part in the study amounted to 384. This was through the online survey that was undertaken by the researchers. The number of the students who took party in the survey amounted to a little more than half of the population that had been contacted to take part in the study. With the average attendance of the participants who had been requested to take part in the study standing at 51%, there are doubts that can be pointed out as to the accuracy or the reliability that will be provided by the data that is collected. There is however an assumption of more than half representation of the people in the study. This therefore increases the confidence levels to a figure more than half of the whole population that would have been involved. The absence of the remaining close to 40% of the people who would have taken part in the survey results to the existence of a kind of bias to the undertaking of the study. This is however eliminated by the freedom of expression and freedom from any manipulation or intimidation by the people who are taking part in the study. Through this, the response that is received and the feedback is assumed representative of the whole sample. In the undertaking of the research, the researchers have sought to put into full use the quantitative research methods. This is a method that seeks at the determination of the relationship that exists between one item or one thing which is the independent variable and another which is the dependent variable. In this case, the undertaking of the feedback from the students is vital in the determination of the outcome of the study. This therefore aids in the arriving at a conclusive determination of the undertakings of a given study. This is for the better of the research process. There is however a limitation on the assumption that is given by the researchers in Mobile News Adoption among Young Adults’. This is based in the number of people who have failed to take part in the study. They could be of differing opinion from those who took part and this may result to the reduction in the accuracy of the conclusion and inferences that have been developed from the study. The researchers could have a tried a way in which they could have increased the number of respondents before embarking on the study for accuracy reasons. This would have increased the sample size and the accuracy of the data and conclusion. The effects of the bias that has been seen in the collection of the data and in the seeing to it that only people over the age of 18 and below the age of 35 have taken part has affected the feedback and response as to such things as the early use of the mobile news systems. Another issue that has also been eliminated in the development of knowledge as to the process of the introduction of the people to the mobile systems, which would be in their early livelihoods. The main reason behind the continuous use of the data in ‘Mobile News Adoption among Young Adults’ is the fact that, it reflects the true and fair view of the research question. This is through the focus that is placed on the answers that are raised and pointed out by the respondents. They aid in the determination of a conclusive statement as to the use of mobile news. Through the reception of the feedback from the students and the participants, there is the arrival at a conclusive statement and report as to the use of mobile news. This will also aid in the determination of the benefits that are derived from the use of the mobile news by the students. It will also aid in the knowledge of the demerits that are derived from the use of the mobile news by the users. Other data that may be collected may lack much relevance in the determination of the factors affecting the use of the mobile news as compared to the undertaking of the field research on the people who are directly affected by it. In the data collection process, there has been the use of bias. This is where the people who do not fall under the scope and the levels that have been set by the company do not have their opinion-factored in. an example of this is the people who are over the age of 35 years. A similar situation is the people under the age of 18. They all are not factored in despite participating or being involved in the use of the mobile news systems. The researchers in the carrying out of their research have used a quantitative approach in their undertakings. This is a method, which involves the use of numerical data. The data in this case is the feedback that is received from the respondents of the study. It is converted into numerical terms that can be used and into statistical form. This has the advantage of creating a structured data collection method as compared to the qualitative approach. It is therefore the use of how many, how much that is used for the quantitative research and the use of what is, and what are for the qualitative approach. (Slevitch, 2011) In the undertaking of the study, several methods have been applied to arrive at the conclusive research and determination. In this, the researchers have pointed out several pointers that they pointed out and that they need to note in the study. The first pointer is the timing of the study. The second pointer that has been listed by the researchers is the intensity. This is on the innovation adaptation behavior. In this, they put into use the multiplicity approach. In the approach, there are four key aspects that are considered and pointed out. The aspects are as pointed out below; a. The degree of the usage of the mobile news b. The intensity of the adoption of the mobile news c. The timing of the adoption d. Amounts of capital invested in the mobile news There are several benefits that accrue to the company following the use and the application of the multiple methodologies of the approach of the problem in hand. The benefits of the many aspects approach include; a. Improved focus on the frequency of usage of the mobile news b. The intensity of the usage of the mobile news c. The development of understanding of the cost to value analysis of the adoption of the mobile news and other investments into the field. The undertaking of the study had to use the several advantage pointers. This would indicate the existence of advantages on the undertaking of a given task or pin by the respondents. The existence of one or more advantage pointers in a given situation or response that is given by the respondents aids in the development of a concussive feedback and determination for the study. This is for the better of the understanding of the field of mobile news usage. This is mostly so among the young people in a given economy or country. The six advantage pointers are i. Content ii. Cost iii. Technology customization iv. Technology multiplicity v. Device specific advantage vi. Technology immediacy The use of the above method has several disadvantages that are associated with it. The first demerit was that there was the absence of uniform inanity among the variables and the pointers that had been pointed out. In this therefore, there was no similarity between all of them. The lack of similarity between the variables that had been pointed out therefore resulted to the increase in the difficulties that existed in the creation of a conclusive comparison between them. The lack of similarity comparison made it difficult and in most cases impossible to develop a trend analysis as to the standards and levels as it comes to the usage of the mobile technologies by the young people in their day to day lives. This was also in the analysis of the impact of the mobile technologies among the young people. Conclusion In conclusion, there are some inferences that are made from the study. The first inference that is made if that there exists a positive relationship between the adoption of a given technology and its perceived relative advantage in a given age group. With this therefore, the aspirations and the projections that are set to a given technology by the users of the technology are replicated in the lives of the people after they adopt them. They therefore fulfil the purposes that they have been set to attain in a given period of time in their existence. The amount of pay by a certain young person to a given mobile news service does not determine the amount or the level of the usage of the mobile news. The amount payable is therefore not much significant as it was pointed out by most of the respondents. The continuous use of the mobile news services has aided them in their everyday undertakings. This has been more so in the getting of the information ass to the happenings across the globe. This makes them to be more informed about the trends of the various affairs in the world. The study can be considered as partly a success and partly a failure. The reason behind the success facto is that the data that is received from the respondents is well sorted out in the study. On the other hand, the failure to increase the number of people taking part in ‘Mobile News Adoption among Young Adults’ after the exit of the nearly half of the respondents, makes the accuracy of the study an aspect that is completely arguable. An increased study size increases the accuracy of a study and this has been completely ignored in this study. References Slevitch, L. (2011).
