In the second essay, he examines Guilt and Bad conscience where he states that the origin of these concepts were not based on the sense of moral transgression. In the final essay, Nietzsche indicates that man would rather will nothing that not will and for that reason, he sees ascetic ideals as the expression of the weak. In this essay, I will examine and asses the Genealogy of morality identifying the major themes the author depicts and his critiques on Thomas Hobbes. There is dissatisfaction in explaining the meaning of morality because according to what has been explained to us morality is that morality is what is right or wrong.

However, according to Nietzsche two groups of people explain morality as they see it (Risse 50). In that, the reach think that having money that makes them happy is good and when a person lacks it is bad. On the hand, the poor are of the view that when a person lacks and they do not take from other they are good and the rich are evil as they take from those who do not have. Therefore, there is no clear explanation as to the origin of morality this is because some theories indicate that when people benefit from the unegoistic actions of other people they identify those actions as good.

He stated” So all respect to the good spirits that may govern in these historians morality! But it’s certainly a pity that they lack the historical spirit itself (Nietzsche 2).” Hobbes in the Leviathan agrees that good and evil are not absolute because morality and justice are products of human resolution. Nietzsche suggests that Hobbesian view of nature is that it is a violent place where there is no social equality because good and bad, as well as, good and evil are interpreted from a fictitious point of view of human nature.

Christianity is associated with good and pureness where it is important for every Christian to be good to their neighbours as they are commanded by the Holy book.
