E- Journal Name Tutor Date Institution The entire units covered in the forensic science course were not only beneficial to me as a student but also gave an insight into the psychological applications of different aspects of life. The introductory part of the course gave concussive information on the basics of psychology and the application of forensic science in life. As a student interested in this course, I must admit that the new approval adopted by the course outliner gave an impetus to my understanding of the entire process. In unit one, there aware major developments that would not go unnoticed. As a student, it is important that one points out specific areas of strengths and weaknesses through the unit. This is an approach that I seek to embrace throughout this paper. As good students, the first unit helped to diffusing highly enshrined perspectives on psychology and the different aspects of forensic science. Form this unit; I was able to gain an in-depth understanding of the overall foundations of psychology. The unit offered step by step analysis of the prevailing conditionals in the field of psychology. The introductory part was a major point of interests as it seeks to empower the students with the knowledge needed in the entire cause. As a student in this class I was able to gain full understanding of the basics of psychology and their applications (Robert, 2006, 132). Being one of my favorites subjects, the basics of the course were a major boost in my understanding of the entire course. It gave me the ability to breakdown the different approaches to psychological behaviors and situations that individuals are exposed to in their lives. Within week 40, the introductory lecture was a major inspiration to the entire learning process. The ability of the lecture to give a complete breakdown of the entire unit and what students should expected was major point of interest. It is important to note that the progress attained from these units acts as the bridge in understanding the major concepts of psychological undertakings in the general life. The major requirement of the course that grades attained are significant into the final achievement is also a factor that has led to my increased desire to understand the concepts psychology. This does not only serve to reinforce my understanding of the course but also gives me the important tactical skills that I need in my endeavor to achieve better grades in the course. One of the features that I found useful in the entire unit was the unit book. This book gave better background information on the specifics of the ideological perspectives of psychology and forensic science. It acted as a stepping stone to then gaining of the knowledge excepted in the course. It has to be noted that the provisions in the book acted as the foundation to understanding the basics of the entire course. As a student, I found psychology and criminal intelligence as one of the specifics of the information given by the course outline. These two aspects gave a conclusive insight into the happenings of the course and its guidelines. Life at the university as a new student was not that easy. There are different things that neither happens that one is not accustomed to. Getting an insight into these occurrences is that incorporates the learning process. It gives and individual the basic information on the initial happenings of the education system in this region. As a new student, it was important that I make friends in the initial few weeks. This is a normal social undertaking that every individual is expected to fulfilling the process of making new friends and getting new classmates, there are some of the major accomplishments that we undertook. The freedom accorded to the class gave us the power to choose what we wanted and what we did not want (Donohue, Kolt, 2006, 109). This is a major accomplishment in education as it gives and individual the ability to engage in productive processes that are aimed at achieving the set goals. It is important to understand that the freedom accorded to different individuals in the campus setting may act as a hindrance to observance of the positive attributes in life. It is common place to find individuals exploiting the freedoms accorded to them by the system to engage in violent activities. This is not only as major setback in exercising of basic institutionalized rights but also a setback in enforcing freedoms in the right perspectives. The model of the argument is based on the fact that some believe the benefits of committing crime outstrip the benefits of not committing the same crime. As a young person, I grew up knowing that crime is the commission of an adversity on another individual. This would come inform of taking other people’s property without their consent. As a result of the course, I have gained a greater insight into what crimes stand for. According to the information gained from this course, it is now evident that crimes are derived into different categories that give different definition to each set of crime. According to deterministic criminology, there are presences set in commission of crimes. This is an approach that has been disputed by Lombroasia. According to lamborsian theory, criminals can get spotted by their physical; appearances. It is also important to note that the theory states that individuals may be born criminals. This is an argument that is set to bring about arguments against the traditional theories. There was anoth3er topic that was of major interest to my undertaking as a student. The idea of sociological positivism is one that played a pivotal role in shaping my ideas. In this part of the unit, different perspectives in relation to promotion of criminal behaviors were touched on. There was a major impetus in the way the issues in this subject were articulated. It was evident that the most dominant aspect of the introduction of the positivist ideology in the learning process was one that was aimed at empowering the students on the approach on psychological perspectives. There are some specific reasons that are highly linked to the prospect of the introduction of the new prospects in the cycle of understanding in the application (Deutsch, Coleman, 2006, 143). The issue of class and religion played a major role in influencing the directions that the course undertook. As good students, it is important to note that was not interested in the type of approach that the course seek to undertake but the mode of application of the approaches. In this context, it is important to say that the major source of interest in the entire process is the mode in which crimes are committed. It is evident that life shifts depending on the prospects of the existing parameters. During the duration of week 43, there were important developments that took place that cannot go without mention. The first assignment was based on literature review. As a good student I undertook to start on the assignment. There was need to evaluate the task first before engaging in writing. This is a major consideration as one is not expected to start writing straight away. There were major challenges witnessed in the given assignment as it is important that one prepares himself adequately before engaging in certain undertakings. During the weeks of lectures in week 46, the topic of personality factors and behavior of criminals was the most productive. In this topic, there were important lessons to be learned. Psychological improvement may have increased our physical privacy but it does not protect us from being watched indirectly. In order to understand this point I will give an example of mobile phone psychology. Some time back it was difficult for people to eavesdrop on conversations that we had with other people (Annas, 2008, 312). This was so because you had to be physically there for you to eavesdrop. With the advent of psychological development, sophisticated voice machines have been developed that can monitor our messages while at the same time recording our conversations. This is a big threat to our privacy since it is difficult to know who is tracing your calls. Factors psychology is being developed in a way that people’s lips can be read and information retrieved First, it was evident that criminals have different personality characteristics. It is argued that the criminals sue these traits to build their own personality and style. During weeks 47 and 50, the subject of psychology had fully become part of my lifestyle. As a good student, I decided to volunteer my services as a psychologist in a bid to understand better the aspect of forensic psychology. It was important that undertake the volunteering process in a police station as it formed the basis for the use of the forensic psychology. The response I got form the police station was not good as I was not allowed to volunteer at the station (Bakalis, 2008, 231). This was a major setback in my quest to amass important knowledge in relation to psychology. It has to be understood that if fought for the need to offer my services so that in the end, I would also gain for the experience I became accustomed to in the process of my working. In conclusion, the course offered a good insight into the status of the mental processes related to forensic psychology. It was important for one as a student to undertake these processes as a way of increasing the knowledge on psychological based developments. There is need for one as a student to fully undertake the responsibility of understanding they people’s psychological needs before drawing conclusions. References Annas, J.
