James Brown-Is Stupid making us Google? Summary This article “Is Stupid Making us Google” by James Brown is all about the influence of internet in making us stupid in our everyday life. With internet stepping into our world, we are becoming less friendly to books and readings .Nowadays, our main source of information is internet and in that “Google “plays the main role as information provider. The author with the article warns the public that the internet has the power to rewire our brain system.

The author claims that something is playing with his brain causing it to change. The main argue of the author is that with the invention of internet, the author has lost the ability to concentrate on books . Here the author is referring to the stupid and foolish situation of human being to be depended on inferior quality of information provider as “Google”.Paraphrasing (paraphrased paragraph is on secondpage)It has always been an easy affair to be indulged in book and enjoying the content of it .

While reading, my mind get swayed by the argumentative turns in the article and I get caught in the reading for long hours without a break. But this phenomenon has changed as my concentration towards reading has worn off. I can no longer concentrate on a book after two or three pages of reading it. Once I flip off three pages of a book I lose interest in this activity and fidget around to search some other interesting thing to do. I feel that I am pulllingmy senses and brain forcefully into the activity of book reading.

The reading which is used to be deep indulgence has turned now into a tug of war of the mind.I can no longer concentrate on book reading as much I enjoy googling on internet. This is the paragraph which is paraphrased.Immersing myself in a book or a lengthy article used to be easy. My mind would get caught up in the narrative or the turns of the argument, and I’d spend hours strolling through long stretches of prose. That’s rarely the case anymore. Now my concentration often starts to drift after two or three pages.

I get fidgety, lose the thread, begin looking for something else to do. I feel as if I’m always dragging my wayward brain back to the text. The deep reading that used to come naturally has become a struggle.” Sound familiar?
