Les Miserables Victor Hugo’s Les Miserables (1862) is the great prose epic of the nineteenth century. Interweaving the social and spiritual threads of human life, the novel has been influential in making people desire a more just world. The author, through his artistic creativity condemns the misplaced and controversial social class of people in the nineteenth century France ruthlessly turning innocent people into criminals and beggars. It is very clear that he advocates for the eradication of both poverty and crimes by providing education o the whole society. This is because it will give all people the information that is necessary to them. In addition, the authority should consider rehabilitation to those found guilty rather than impose punishment on them. In the movie, inspector Javert appears to be a staunch defender of law. Law is a basic ethical issue in a society. However, it is evident that the inspector misuses since in the course of administration, he does it without any feelings. This is evident when he re-arrests Jean Valjean even when he is done with the rehabilitation process. According to the movie, he inspector categorizes himself as a saint just because he punishes sinners. Though the ethics in any given society provides that people should be punished and corrected depending with the magnitude of their mistakes, it does not sound realistic when Valjean is sentenced for five years just because he breaks a window and steals a piece of bread. His attempts to escape from the Toulon prison earn him the title “dangerous”. The authorities extend his life in prison to 19 years. Valjean’s heart winning virtue is love, which is the interesting part of the controversial treatment he gets. Valjean asks, “What is the loving thing to do...what is the right or the legal thing to do?” and as a result, ethical dilemmas are much simpler for him. It is important to note that loving for him is the most difficult issue because he risks breaking rules to make it happen. According to the deeds, Bishop Myriel is not a typical bishop or even a conventional Christian. He operates on his own innate sense of morality. His type of morality is not a provision under any Christian doctrine. He acts in line with the he phrase “True morality is higher than, and separate from, any particular religion.” Through this, it is very evident that any religious practice can pass with time but the Almighty God will forever remain. The actions of Myriel depict genuine sympathy and overall care for the marginalized groups who include the weak in a society. Myriel observes a unique type of belief that in his case defines his life style as well. He takes up the challenge by dedicating his whole life to promoting humanity. He does this by being on the forefront of promoting good morals that involves offering all charitable services to the society. He has a strong belief in the capability of every individual to act in a charitable manner. Scientific secret for a powerful memory A scientific top secret for a great memory is movie that bases on Victor Hugo’s novel. He deeply analyses the mental state of individual, it also gives out ways on how one can improve his or her state of mind.
