Title: Bendigo Spirit Basketball Club Name Professor Course Date Bendigo Spirit Basketball Club QN 1 & 2 Bendigo Spirit Basket Club (BSBC) proposes a sponsor that will enhance achievement of the set goals of the club not only in nurturing women talent but also to develop the club to international level thus producing world champions in Australian Women’s National Basketball League (WNBL).The club consist of notable player in the world such as world championship winner Kristi Harrower, Kelsey Griffin and Chelsea Aubrey. In addition, the team coach is Bernie Harrower. Essentially the club was founded in 2007 and they are currently sponsored by Bendigo Bank in Australia. Interestingly, mendigo has also focused on other types of games not only basketball such as athletics and foot thus enhancing their target of nurturing talents since it accommodate even those who are talented to play basketball though that was their main objective. The club BSBC is located in the regional city of Bendigo and 150 kilometers north of the Bendigo stadium which is their home ground pitch. (Bendigo spirit Basketball Club, 2012) QN 3 For every activity to successes and goal targeted by individual or group to be achieved successfully there must be a sponsor to support them either financially, psychologically or both. In this regard, our team needs a sponsor to enhance better performances due to the financial support offered to both players and management official in nurturing talents of individuals. Thus, Rio Tinto being a well-established company and financially stable existing in Australia economy is our proposed sponsor. Rio Tinto was established and incorporated as business on March 29 1873 since then it has greatly developed and attains its fume both locally and internationally very well. It has not only been ranked among world’s leading mining and metal company but also among the top ten companies in Australia. It focuses on copper mines commonly known as red river. Due to the gradual development of the company it’s widely spread all over the world and it exist in more than one town in Australia such as Belmont Ave, Melbourne and 11 George wienckle Drive (Irwin, Sutton & Carthy, 2002).  Sports offer entertainment, passion and are worldwide connecting individual talents this creates an environment with no boundary thus the team and corporate sponsor benefits simultaneously. In this regard, the club has various achievement that will enable the sponsor be able to increase it sell output both locally and internationally therefore will not regret at any circumstances to her decision to support the club (Graham, Neiratti & Goldblatt, 2001). The Bendigo Spirit Basketball Club (BSBC) has participated in highest international levels winning in 2013 and 2014 consecutively. In addition, it has participated both local and inter-house competition accordingly, their home ground Arena (Schweppes Centre) hold more than 2000 fun qualifying it to be considered to hold international competition. This has made it to be a topic in social media as they report every won match, achievement and activities to it supporters. Eventually, enabling the sponsor to get good publicity and create valuable good will locally and internationally hence broadening competitive since sponsors company image has been improved credential achievement by the club (Fullerton, 2010). QN 4 The most important thing is that when Rio Tinto Company decides to sponsor Bendigo Spirit Basketball team its brand-name will be fixed on all players’ jersey and shorts. This is a great achievement for the company as its name will be advertised whenever the team goes for a tournament. Likewise, the team has a home ground stadium with international standards, enabling it to hold more than 2 000 fans at a go thus giving the Company a chance to advertise its name to many. The Bendigo Stadium also attracts more than 10,000 patrons per week for major sports, trade shows and concerts dinner increasing the number of people who view the brand name on the stadium walls. With many restaurants, sport bars and pubs in the stadium many people will occasionally visit the stadium. The entry tickets to the stadium will also be tagged with the Companies brand label. The training kits, sport shoes plus other clothes for the Bendigo staffs and players will be marked with the Companies brand (Mullin, Hardy & Sutton, 2000). Secondly, the Bendigo Spirit participates on both local and international leagues where it wins most of it matches both home and away. Being the third Victorian based team it is based in the provincial town of Bendigo which has a population of around 71000, the whole community of Bendigo area has a good reputation about basketball and truly supports this team (Shank, 2002). The team has a good leadership structure governed by the Board of the Bendigo Association (BBA) who works hand in hand with the Bendigo Stadium staff to manage all the local and international competitions. With these tirelessly body leaders who sacrifices every minute of their time for this team, Bendigo Spirit has a good history of winning many awards. With the most dedicated basketball players of the world who includes the world championship winner Kristi Harrower, captain Richards Gabrielle, Aubry Chelsea and Wilson Kelly who have won several titles in their respective countries the team have got a string of good winning records over time. However, Bendigo Spirit Basketball team is faced by a number of challenges that hinder it from winning virtually all the awards as they would like to. The team is facing financial crises, making it not to participate most of international friendly matches out of Australia premises. Thus, they are looking forward for any willing company or organisation to sponsor them so that they can be able to achieve their goal which is to become the best run and quality serviced basketball development program in the Victoria region ( Stotlar, 2000).. In addition the Bendigo Basketball team is facing a challenge of inadequate coaches to coach the many sporting activities held in their stadium which includes; McBiddy Ball and Aussie Hoops that are meant to nurture young talents in the Bendigo area and the whole world. The team is also faced by insufficient funds to cater for all its activities and also for the payment of their staffs. Inadequate facilities like buses and private airplanes are another hindrance to their success. Bendigo Spirit Basketball team experiences a lot of support from the neighboring community as Bendigo area has a good reputation of Basketball, the surrounding people are always willing to buy a ticket whenever they is a match at the Bendigo stadium this have made it very easy for this club to sell their tickets in a hung number. The whole of Bendigo area has a population of around 70000 who are all dedicated towards the development of their home team. The official funs of the team are also very much willing to lend their hand for the success of Bendigo team (Pitts & Stotlar, 2002). In addition there are a lot of businesses that are carried out at Bendigo town making it to be a very dense town which will make the companies brand to be well established. This has also attracted a lot of media attentions including news anchors and Facebook, twitter and instagram bloggers who frequently present anything going on at Bendigo town to their respective media areas. Under good leadership of able, willing and self-driven Board of the Bendigo Association (BBA) the management of Bendigo Basketball in not interfered by the political arena of the country, thus it have good strategies on how to govern their finances. Also the leaders of this board are not elected on the bases of the country politics but on the bases of the credibility and accountability to the club activities. Moreover the stadium of the club is well situated graphically; being at the centre of the town it is easily accessible by many people (Shilbury, Westerbeek,Quick & Funk, 2009). The stadium being in a very busy town which is involved with a lot of business activities including market places, hawking, hotels and restaurants, supermarkets and boutique. Furthermore, Bendigo is also the largest finance center in Victoria making it attract many citizens, hence sponsoring Bendigo Basketball team will put Rio Tinto Company in a good position to market its products to the people of Bendigo area and Victoria at large. The Bendigo Spirit Basketball women team has participated in the world champions in Australian Women’s National Basketball League (WNBL) where it have emerged as the champions several times, on 2014/15 season it emerged second behind the champions Townsville. It has also participated in international levels winning in 2013 and 2014 consecutively. Most of its successes are contributed by much involvement in inter-house competition. The team is also motivated by their mission statement “To be the best run, quality serviced basketball development program in Victoria” this has contributed greatly in building their moral while playing. The team has a number of objectives which makes them perform better; they are aimed at giving their best to the team and always believe in team work for better results, which makes their funs board buses and airplanes with them whenever they go. During their home matches at Bendigo Stadium the stadium is always full to capacity. Therefore, by sponsoring (BSBC) club Rio Tinto Company will have a good chance to advertise most of their products .( Stotlar,2001). References Bendigo spirit Basketball Club. (2012, January).
